Today's mentees, tomorrow's women scientists and engineers who will shape the world

About myWISEmentor

myWISEmentor is a free mentoring program for girls who are interested in science, math, or engineering. Eligible mentees must live in the province of Saskatchewan, be between the ages of 11 to 18, and have an interest in science, math, or engineering. myWISEmentor matches girls with either women students at Saskatchewan universities who are studying science and engineering or professional women scientists and engineers.

Mentors and Mentees communicate through the use of email. In a province as diverse as Saskatchewan, email eliminates the challenges imposed by time and distance.

Purpose of the mentoring program

The purpose of myWISEmentor is to provide information and support to girls who are intersted in an education or a career in science, math, engineering, or technology.

Who is behind myWISEmentor

Inspired by the success of the Cybermentor program in Alberta, myWISEmentor was launched in order to provide girls in Saskatchewan with an opportunity to be mentored by women in science and engineering. myWISEmentor is a collaboration between Dr. Julita Vassileva, Prairie Chair for Women in Science and Engineering, and the University of Saskatchewan College of Engineering's Office of Outreach and Transition Programs.
