Mentors

What is mentoring?

Mentoring is a one-on-one relationship between a more experienced person (mentor) to help a less experienced person (mentee) strengthen their skills or abilities. The mentor-mentee relationship is based on openness and encouragement, constructive feedback, and mutual trust and respect.

Purpose of the myWISEmentor Program

The purpose of the Mentoring program is to provide information and support to girls between the ages of 11 and 18 who are interested in an education or career in science, math, engineering or technology.

How do myWISEmentor Mentees and Mentors communicate?

Mentors and Mentees communicate through the use of email because, in a province as diverse as Saskatchewan, email eliminates the challenges imposed by time and distance.

Who are myWISEmentors?

myWISEmentors are women university students, postsecondary faculty, and professionals working in science and engineering career fields in Saskatchewan. Mentors support girls who are interested in a career in science, math, engineering, or technology.
